Bank of Hawaii Announces New Vice Presidents: Kanemaru and Matsuo

HONOLULU, HI – Aaron Kanemaru has been promoted from assistant vice president and banking center manager to vice president and banking center manager at the Waikiki Banking Center. He manages and partners with a team of bankers to serve the personal, business and commercial banking needs of Waikiki and the surrounding areas.
Kanemaru joined the bank in 2002 as a teller in the Waikiki Branch, and has since worked at several branch locations, including Moiliili, Mililani, Kunia and Waipahu. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Kanemaru serves on the Waikiki Business Improvement District Association as treasurer, and is a board member of Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii and Aloha Festivals.
Tracy C. Matsuo has been promoted from assistant vice president and trust officer to vice president and senior trust officer in the Retirement Plan Services Department. She is responsible for providing support to the department’s relationship officers and administration officers focusing on compliance and oversight.
Matsuo joined the bank as trust administrator in the Employee Benefits Department in 1993, when Bank of Hawaii acquired American Trust. Previously, she spent 11 years as supervisor in the Employee Benefits Department at American Trust. She holds a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and serves as secretary on the Levin Education Access Project board of directors.
