Bank of Hawaii Appoints Glass and Sloan to American Samoa Positions

Honolulu, Hawaii (February 20, 2007) - Brian S. Glass, vice president, was recently appointed Bank of Hawaii’s district manager in American Samoa, where he will be responsible for the overall management of its American Samoa branches. Glass joined the bank in 1990, serving in various management positions throughout the Pacific including as installment loan manager for the Saipan Branch, branch manager in Majuro and lending manager in the bank’s former Solomon Island subsidiary. Glass has also served as dealer banking officer in the Auto Dealer Banking department in Hawaii.
Glass holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Hawaii.
Martha Kiyomi Sloan has been promoted to vice president and service manager for the American Samoa District. In this position, she will oversee operations for all three Bank of Hawaii branches in American Samoa. She will also serve as liaison between the Pacific Islands Division and State of Hawaii, coordinating training, ensuring compliance with policies and standards, as well as service quality.
With more then 30 years experience in the financial services industry, Sloan joined Bank of Hawaii in 1973 as an interior clerk. Over the years, she has served in a variety of positions at the bank, including as service manager in American Samoa from 1987 to 1989 and 2003 to 2006 and most recently, as manager of the Money Processing Center in Maui.
Sloan studied banking operations at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and at the University of Wisconsin. She has served as a state board member for the American Lung Association and as chairperson for the Advisory Council for the Maui Chapter of the same association. She has also served as a board member for the Aloha House on Maui.
