HONOLULU, HAWAII – Bank of Hawaii has developed and launched its first iPhone application. The fast and secure application is free and available for download to iPhones from the App Store.
Key features of the Bank of Hawaii iPhone app include:
* Allows Hawaii customers to check account balances, view recent transactions, transfer money between accounts, and make payments online.
* Finds the nearest BOH branch or ATM by utilizing the iPhone’s GPS2 functionality. (It works throughout the state of Hawaii and in Guam.)
* Identifies (in real time) which branches will be open within the next 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
David Oyadomari, senior vice president and manager of Bank of Hawaii’s online and mobile banking, said, “We are committed to utilizing technology to allow our customers to bank at their convenience. Use of mobile phone applications to help consumers manage their finances is growing significantly.”
Compatible with any Internet-enabled iPhone or iPod touch, the application was designed and developed by Bank of Hawaii and MShift, Inc. Users need to be enrolled in e-Bankoh or e-Bankoh for Business, Bank of Hawaii’s online banking services, in order to access the account service capabilities of the app.
Bank of Hawaii offers the most extensive branch and ATM network of any Hawaii-based financial institution. In August 2007, Bank of Hawaii was the first bank in Hawaii and among the first nationwide to offer mobile banking, a free internet-based service that allows customers to access their financial accounts via cell phone or PDA. Founded in 1897, Bank of Hawaii is the largest independent financial institution in Hawaii.
