Founded by Monica Bogar, Napili FLO Farm operates with a philosophy that emphasizes harmony with nature and a deep respect for the island’s rich agricultural heritage. “I’m so grateful that we can support local farmers and our community through our work,” shares Monica. Growing up in Hawaii, she has always felt a strong connection to the land and its people. After the devastating Maui wildfires, her commitment to fostering community resilience and sustainability has only strengthened. Through Monica’s business, she sources fresh produce from local farmers, ensuring they are supported, and her customers are receiving the best of Hawaii’s bounty. Monica is proud to play a part in nourishing her community, honoring the spirit of aloha that has always defined her beloved island home.
Monica draws deep inspiration from her mother Song’s legacy of cooking and community connection. Song's Kitchen, nestled on the wharf of Front Street in Lahaina from 1984 to 1997, was a beloved local establishment serving up authentic Korean dishes. Growing up, Monica would finish her school day and head straight to her mom's restaurant, spending her evenings there until closing.
This daily routine not only instilled in her a strong entrepreneurial spirit but also an appreciation for the power of food in fostering their rich Korean heritage. The restaurant served as a melting pot of locals and tourists, with Song’s kimchi and Kalbi plates becoming iconic favorites. Witnessing her mother's joy in sharing her culture through food inspired Monica to carry forward this legacy with Napili Flo Farm even after her mom passed away, using her beloved mother’s kimchi and Kalbi sauce recipes.
