What debit card designs are available?
There are three Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card designs available:
- Shave Ice
- Kakimochi
- Bankohana
The Bankohana Sanrio® Debit Card is only available to Bankohana consumer checking accountholders.
Who is eligible for the Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card designs?
The Shave Ice and Kakimochi designs are available to eligible customers with any Bank of Hawaiʻi consumer checking account, including EASE by Bank of Hawaii. The Bankohana design is exclusively available to Bankohana consumer checking account holders. Bankohana consumer checking account holders may choose between any of the 3 designs. There is a limit of one debit card per person, per account.1
Is there a fee for a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card?
Yes. There is a one-time $18 fee for the Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card.
Bankohana Premier Gold and Bankohana Premier Kalai clients and their linked accounts will receive the one-time $18 fee credited back to their account within 10 business days.
Is there an age requirement to order a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card?
Yes. Must be at least 16 years old to order a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card.
Which checking accounts are eligible for a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card?
The Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card is available with all Bank of Hawaii consumer checking account types, including EASE by Bank of Hawaii accounts.
How do I order a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card if I already have a checking account?
Existing checking account customers can request a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card by submitting a contact form or by visiting any Bank of Hawaii branch.
How do I order a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card as a new customer?
New customers can open a checking account online and order a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card during the account opening process or by booking an appointment at any Bank of Hawaii branch.
Can I have more than one Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card design?
Hello Kitty® and Friends debit cards are limited to one debit card per person, per account. Customers with multiple eligible checking accounts, including EASE by Bank of Hawaii accounts, may order a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card for each account. There will be a one-time $18 fee per card.
Who is eligible for Sanrio® checks?
Bank of Hawaii Sanrio® checks are available with all eligible checking accounts, excluding EASE by Bank of Hawaii accounts. As our EASE by Bank of Hawaii accounts do not offer check writing, these checks are not available for EASE by Bank of Hawaii accounts.
How do I order Hello Kitty® and Friends checks?
- New customers: If you're opening a checking account online, you can order checks during the account opening process or visit a Bank of Hawaii branch to place an order.
- Existing customers placing their first check order: Order through a Bank of Hawaii branch or via mobile and online banking.
- Existing customers who have previously ordered checks through Harland Clarke in the last 48 months: Reorder online at www.ordermychecks.com, through a Bank of Hawaii branch, or via mobile and online banking.
What special offers come with a Hello Kitty® and Friends debit card and how will I receive them?

To receive program-related marketing communications and offers, eligible cardholders must have a valid email address on file and be opted in to receive Bank of Hawaiʻi marketing emails. Program-related marketing communications and offers are sent to the email address associated with your Bank of Hawaii account. If your email address needs to be updated, please contact our Customer Service Center or visit your nearest Bank of Hawaii branch for assistance.
What happens if I unsubscribe from marketing emails?
