Yukiko Tanaka is Assistant Vice President and International Banking Officer in the International Client Group. The International Client Group offers a wide variety of banking products and services specifically tailored to international clientele. With a unique understanding of the financial needs and cultures of non-resident clients, the International Client Group provides guidance for personal and business financial goals with useful solutions designed to make life easier.

Yukiko was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and has more than 20 years of legal and financial experience. After graduating from college, she worked as an officer at a Japanese bank and then in real estate sales in New York City. She then attended law school, during which Yukiko interned for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s Vice Chair in Washington, D.C. Returning to Tokyo to work at a large multinational law firm, Yukiko facilitated various transactions with international corporations and financial institutions in the United States and Japan. She was involved in cross-border mergers and acquisition transactions by large listed corporations, real estate securitization transactions for a Japanese trust bank, registration of various mutual funds in Japan for a major U.S. investment company, assisting new foreign companies and financial institutions with starting businesses in Japan and assisting Japanese companies with starting businesses in the U.S., and handling compliance and employment matters in Japan for foreign corporations and financial institutions. She also held parents’ association and advisory positions at an international school in Tokyo.

Yukiko received her bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Law School, and Master of Law in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University Law School. She has a license to practice law in New York.

In her free time, Yukiko enjoys music and theatre, tennis, and arts and crafts.
