The community is invited to a grand opening celebration on Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy a festive day of music, local food, games, and family-friendly activities outside the new headquarters and Tamuning Branch at 134 Chalan San Antonio, Tamuning, Guam 96913.
“Bank of Hawaii has been part of the Guam community for more than 60 years, and this new regional headquarters reflects that enduring relationship,” said President of Bank of Hawaii James Polk. “We’re honored to continue growing alongside the people and businesses of the West Pacific, and as part of our commitment to the region we’re especially excited to announce the promotion of Michael Sakazaki to a new leadership role.”
As part of its continued dedication to the region, Bank of Hawaii has appointed Senior Vice President Michael Sakazaki to West Pacific Market President. In his expanded role, Sakazaki will oversee Bank of Hawaii’s strategic and operational initiatives across Guam, Saipan, and Palau for Retail Banking, The Private Bank and Commercial Banking segments, ensuring regional growth, regulatory alignment, and strong stakeholder relationships to deliver exceptional customer and business outcomes.
Born and raised on Guam, Sakazaki will bring deep local insight and leadership experience to his new role. He joined Bank of Hawaii in 2017 as a bank associate and has since held numerous leadership positions at the bank’s Iwilei, Ward, Ala Moana and Waialae-Kahala branches on Oahu before returning to Guam in 2023. He most recently held the role of senior vice president and senior market manager of Branch Banking’s West Pacific Market.
