Step-by-step instructions on how to activate your digital token
The digital token app is called “OneSpan Mobile Authenticator” and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. This is a multi- factor authenticator provided by OneSpan. It allows online users to safely log into BBC with their mobile device by using a one-time passcode.
Since the digital token will be on your phone, you will no longer need to carry around a physical token if you are on the go or working from a different location. With the digital token, you never have to worry about the battery dying and not being able to access your BBC account. You can also install the digital token app on up to 3 devices.
Once you have installed the app on your phone, and you want to generate a onetime passcode (OTP) to log into BBC, you will need to re-authenticate yourself through the app to generate the code. This prevents someone else using the code from an unlocked phone.
You will need to first download the OneSpan Mobile Authenticator app on your phone, then you can activate your app by using the step-by-step instructions located on the digital token upgrade site. If you have a working physical token, you can use the one time passcode generated from this token to log into the website.
You will need to activate the app using the same steps used to activate the first app. The difference is that you will need to use the one-time passcode generated by your first digital token as the passcode in order to register your second or third app.
You should be able to retrieve the app setting from your cloud backup. If you do not have your phone setting to back up your apps, then you will need to download and re-activate the app using the same steps above under “Activation”. In addition, you will need to request a one-time password from BOH in order to log into the registration site. Please contact the Cash Management Servicing team at 808-694-8021 /Toll-free 877-232-0118 or email cmsrequest@boh.com to obtain the necessary password, which will be mailed to you via the USPS.
The digital token requires a smartphone. If you do not have a smartphone, you will need to maintain your physical token.
Yes, you can use your physical token as a backup or alternative until the token runs out of battery life. We will not be replacing the physical token once the device reaches end-of-life for those who have a working digital token.
Please contact the Cash Management Servicing team at 808-694-8021 /Toll-free 877-232-0118 or email cmsrequest@boh.com to discuss options to stay on the physical token.
