For the fifth consecutive year, Bank of Hawaii is named on a national ranking of “Most Trustworthy Companies in America 2026” by Newsweek and remains the only business in Hawaii to appear on the list. A total of 700 companies across 23 industries are listed. In the banking industry, Bank of Hawaii ranks No. 5 nationwide. The complete listing can be found here.
The annual ranking, developed by Newsweek in partnership with market research firm Statista, highlights organizations that demonstrate strong trust among the three pillars that form the foundation for long-term success: customers, employees, and investors.
Trust was evaluated through an independent survey of approximately 25,000 U.S. residents, generating more than 100,000 individual evaluations, along with a comprehensive social listening analysis of public sentiment. Survey results accounted for 80% of a company’s score, while online media sentiment made up the remaining 20%.
“Bank of Hawaii is honored to be recognized for the fifth consecutive year as one of the most trustworthy companies in the nation,” said Bank of Hawaii President and CEO Jim Polk. “This recognition reflects the work our employees do every day and the care they show for our customers and one another. Their consistency and integrity are what earn trust over time, and we’re thankful to be recognized.”
