Forbes Magazine Ranks Bank of Hawaii Among America’s Top Performers for 14th Straight Year

HONOLULU, HAWAII

March 15th, 2023

For the 14th year in a row, Forbes magazine has recognized Bank of Hawaii as one of the top-performing banks in the country. Named among the 100 largest U.S. banks and thrifts in a list published online by Forbes, Bank of Hawaii is the only local bank to be included in this list for the past 14 years since Forbes has been compiling the ranking.

“Bank of Hawaii has always been a strong and stable institution that our customers can feel confident trusting their funds with no matter the economic landscape,” said Peter Ho, Bank of Hawaii chairman, president and CEO. “To consistently be ranked among America’s best banks is a testament to our unwavering commitment to doing what's right for our customers and communities.”

To determine the ranking, Forbes evaluated U.S.-owned banks and thrift institutions based on nine metrics of financial health measuring growth, credit quality and profitability in the 12 months through Sept. 30, 2022. S&P Global Market Intelligence provides the data, and the rankings are completed separately by Forbes.

The list was published on February 16. Only one other local bank is ranked in the top 100 list.
