Bank of Hawaii Promotes Irene E.B. Kwan to Senior Vice President

HONOLULU, HAWAII

Irene E.B. Kwan has been promoted to senior vice president and chief fiduciary officer from vice president and audit consultant in Bank of Hawaii’s Credit & Risk/Enterprise Operational Risk Division.

In her new role as chief fiduciary officer, Kwan will manage the Fiduciary and Investment Compliance & Risk Management staff while being responsible for ensuring appropriate controls, policies and procedures are in place for the bank’s Trust Services Group and Bankoh Investment Services Inc. She will also be the lead liaison for the annual Federal Reserve Board Wealth Management exam as well as oversee the bank’s internal audits. Kwan’s expanded role also includes developing the strategic, long-term plans to ensure comprehensive fiduciary practices are embedded and adhered to within the bank’s numerous business processes.

Kwan joined Bank of Hawaii in 2001 as senior auditor and was later promoted to vice president and audit consultant in the bank’s Internal Audit Department. She has more than 20 years of fiduciary risk and wealth management audit experience, and has worked in a variety of leadership roles at such companies as Ernst & Young LLP, Robert’s Hawaii and Central Pacific Bank.

Kwan earned her bachelor’s of business administration degree in accounting from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. She is also a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Fiduciary & Investment Risk Specialist.
