Bank of Hawaii Announces New Vice President Weiguo Sun

HONOLULU, HAWAII

August 8th, 2019

Weiguo Sun was recently promoted to vice president from assistant vice president at Bank of Hawaii and continues his duties as an IT manager in the Database Administration department. He manages the database administration team to ensure secure, reliable and recoverable systems are in place.

Sun has more than 18 years of experience at Bank of Hawaii having held various positions in Database Administration and the Business Intelligence Division. Prior to joining the bank, he served as a senior Oracle developer for the State of Hawaii Department of Health.

Sun received his bachelor of science degree in biology from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China and his master’s in plant breeding and Ph.D. in quantitative genetics from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He is also an Oracle Certified Professional Database Administrator.
