Bank of Hawaii Announces New Executive Vice President and Treasurer Scott Wallace and New Senior Vice President Jared Kashiwabara

Scott Wallace recently joined Bank of Hawaii as executive vice president and treasurer. He is responsible for collaborating with the bank’s leadership to develop strategies for effectively managing the bank’s liquidity and funding strategies, market risks, investment portfolio, and its asset liability management process. Wallace is succeeding Jennifer Lam, who has recently been appointed Bank of Hawaii’s chief compliance and chief fiduciary officer.

As a visionary financial leader, Wallace has more than 30 years of extensive banking experience in the areas of robust risk mitigation, rigorous treasury management, and optimal asset liability alignment. Prior to joining Bank of Hawaii, he served as treasurer for PacWest Bancorp and Pacific Western Bank for over 13 years. Most recently Wallace served as chief financial officer for Center Street Lending, a privately held business purpose residential lender. He also worked with Imperial Capital Bank as managing director and treasurer for 10 years.

Wallace earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive) and a member of AICPA and the California Society of CPAs. He is also a part of the Regional Bank Treasurers Peer Group.

Jared Kashiwabara was recently promoted to senior vice president and director of private banking from vice president and senior manager, private banking at Bank of Hawaii. He is responsible for a team of relationship managers who deliver holistic banking and wealth solutions for high net worth individuals and families, led with discovery and planning.

Kashiwabara joined the bank in 2012 as a senior analyst in the Commercial Credit Group and has continued to expand his roles and contributions holding leadership positions in relationship management in Business Banking, Commercial Banking and Private Banking. He also served as market manager in Branch Banking before returning to The Private Bank as team leader.

Kashiwabara earned his Bachelor of Science degree with dual concentrations in Finance and Risk Management from Sacramento State University. He serves as board chair for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii and is second vice president of the board of trustees of Palama Settlement. Kashiwabara also actively supports the Iolani School alumni community.
