I was able to save up my MyBankoh points for a very special occasion. On April 14, 2014 I married my best friend at Kualoa Ranch*, Kaaawa, HI. During the planning process, our MyBankoh Rewards Card played a crucial role. With all of our big wedding expenditures I was able to quickly earn and redeem points which allowed some room for something extra special in our budget. On April 15, 2014 I redeemed 15,000 points! And now I am saving points to redeem toward a new camera for the honeymoon!
Thank you MyBankoh!
Redeeming MyBankoh Rewards is serious business. I didn’t want to redeem it for a grocery bill or just any purchase on my Bank of Hawaii credit card. I wanted it to be meaningful. I wanted to redeem it “my way.”
On June 17, 2013, I redeemed 20,000 MyBankoh Rewards Points ($200) for my $207.33 purchase that I made at Runner’s HI*. I bought two pairs of my favorite running shoes. Those shoes are special to me because with them, I’ve been able to run in many different races (sometimes dressed up in costumes for fun) and also help raise money for those battling breast cancer, leukemia and lymphoma.
These races keep me healthy and empower me. I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I cross the finish line. I conquered distances and obstacles that I didn’t think I could.
When I run with my shoes, I always remember how I got them—by redeeming the points from my Bank of Hawaii MyBankoh Rewards credit card!
Savvy shopper Jennifer scooped up her favorite designer handbag with MyBankoh Rewards.
I saw this bag in January (2013) in the Michael Kors* store, but I passed it up because I didn’t want to make a large spur-of-the-moment purchase on an expensive purse. I contemplated the purchase and decided that I really wanted it. I went back a week later and the bag was SOLD OUT.
A few months later, I saw the bag in stores again and scooped it up! Without thinking, I swiped my My Bankoh Rewards Credit Card and knew I was going to pay off a portion of this bag with my accumulated points! I ended up paying less than $65 for a $300 bag! I redeemed 25,000 points ($250), and couldn’t be more ecstatic about my purchase!
Getting the Bank of Hawaii rewards credit card was one of the best decisions I’ve made so far! I got to purchase my first pair of glasses! I’m excited to go on many adventures and see how beautiful our ‘aina can be with a fresh pair of new eyes.
Thank you for the chance to see the world in a new way! MAHALO
As a parent, I try my best to teach my children the value of money and ways to be financially wise. Recently, I had a good opportunity to teach my son a very important principle as he prepares for life on his own. He is currently attending the University of Hawaii School of Nursing* and is in his first year. His instructor informed the students that they could earn valuable experience by working in a hospital part-time while going to school, but to do that, he would have to obtain a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant*) license, which costs $750 to attend a preparatory class. Although he eagerly wanted to go, he hesitated a bit to ask me because of the cost since it wasn’t necessary for his career, but something that would allow him to pursue greater opportunities. I sat down with him and explained to him that to achieve great goals, you must be willing to invest now, though the returns would not show until years later.
The deposit to secure a spot was $300 and I used my Bankoh Rewards card to pay the bill. Of course he was grateful, but then I realized I could teach him another concept that would also help him in life. I had 3,709 points at that time. We sat together and he watched as I used 2,500 points to redeem for part of the deposit. Though the dollar amount was only $25 off the original, what impressed my son was how having the right card was not only essential to building good credit and using to purchase goods, but it could also save money as he witnessed when points earned for buying what was needed was also used to help pay for the items purchased! The great news is he passed! Thanks, Bank of Hawaii for help making it happen!
