Bank of Hawaii Announces New Vice Presidents: Johnson & Sterrett

HONOLULU, HAWAII –
Steven Johnson joined Bank of Hawaii as vice president and corporate counsel in the Legal Division, where he provides legal services to various bank units on state and federal regulatory concerns, contractual matters and consumer compliance issues.
Johnson joins the bank with 21 years of legal experience, most recently at State Farm Bank, F.S.B., in Bloomington, Ill., where for the past 15 years he oversaw the bank’s responses to federal regulatory inquiries and examinations and ensured compliance with consumer lending laws and regulations. Johnson earned his undergraduate degree in Ecology from the University of Illinois in Urbana, and his law degree, summa cum laude, from its College of Law in Champaign. He was admitted to the bar in Hawaii, Illinois and Michigan and is licensed to practice before the Federal District Court for the District of Hawaii, Federal District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mark Sterrett was recently hired as vice president and primary relationship officer in the Corporate Banking Division where he leads a team focused on providing a range of banking solutions to corporate clients.
With 11 years of experience in commercial banking, most recently he was a director in Corporate Banking at MUFG Union Bank in Seattle. Sterrett also has six years of audit and financial reporting experience and earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Accounting from the University of Denver in Colo.
