Bank of Hawaii Announces New Vice Presidents: Ishihara, Marumoto and Mitchell

Charlyn Ishihara has been promoted to vice president and trust operations section manager in Securities Services from assistant vice president and trust operations section supervisor. She oversees several areas within the Trust Securities Services group including Trade Settlement, Asset Transfer and Reconciliation, ensuring timely and smooth transactions processing to comply with regulations and customer expectations. Ishihara has more than 28 years of experience in bank operations. She first joined Bank of Hawaii in 1989.

Christopher Marumoto was promoted to vice president and client services training and operations manager from assistant vice president in Bankoh Client Services Administration. With seven years of experience in operations training, he continues his responsibilities managing training for agents in the Bankoh Client Services Division. He also oversees the division’s quality assessment and compliance monitoring programs to ensure that procedures are performed correctly and meet division goals.

After two years as a consumer banking representative at the Times Mililani and Safeway Kahului in-store branches, Marumoto moved to Training & Support as a senior training instructor in 2010. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance and Management at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.

Jason Mitchell has been promoted to vice president and operations manager from assistant vice president and process manager. In addition to managing the ACH operations team, which processes electronic funds transfers (EFT) through the Automated Clearing House, he also manages the Dispute Processing Center, which handles debit card and EFT disputes.

Mitchell joined the bank in 2006 as a Merchant Services sales representative, and then became the BOH card operations manager in the Dispute Processing Center in 2011. He has 19 years of financial services experience in California and Hawaii, including in trade operations for Investors Bank and Trust in Sacramento. Mitchell is a U.S. Army veteran who served as a paratrooper from the 82nd Airborne of Ft. Bragg, N.C. He earned a business administration degree from California State University in Chico.
