HONOLULU, HAWAII –
Groundbreaking ceremonies were held today to mark the beginning of construction for Bank of Hawaii’s new Manoa Branch located at 2809 East Manoa Road, the former site of the Unocal 76 gas station.
The new branch, which replaces its former location inside the Manoa Marketplace, is scheduled to be completed in early October. The 3,500 square foot branch will feature the bank’s Branch of Tomorrow concept with Teller Bars, Cardless Cash, Wi-Fi and private meeting spaces for clients.
“We look forward to introducing the Branch of Tomorrow concept to the Manoa community. In addition, the new location will provide greater visibility for our customers and ease of access,” said Kevin Sakamoto, Bank of Hawaii senior executive vice president of Branch Delivery.
The architect for the branch is Steve Marlette of MC Architects and the contractor is Allied Builders System.
All seven bank employees will be transferred to the new location. Pearl City was the first branch to incorporate the new Branch of Tomorrow concept, followed by Hawaii Kai, which celebrated its grand opening on March 18. Bank of Hawaii’s Main Branch is currently under construction with plans to open in August. Bank of Hawaii has 67 branches in Hawaii.
