Bank of Hawaii Appoints Norris to Controller

Honolulu, Hawaii (December 15, 2008) - Bank of Hawaii has appointed Executive Vice President Derek J. Norris to controller and principal accounting officer. His responsibilities include overseeing the bank’s financial reports for internal business lines and the overall budget for the bank.
Norris joined Bank of Hawaii in 1999 and became general auditor in 2000. He was promoted to executive vice president in 2001.
Previously, Norris worked for Bank of America in a variety of positions in mortgage banking, treasury, regulatory management and internal audit throughout Asia, Latin America and California. He also served as a manager in internal audit for KPMG in London.
A graduate of Aberdeen University in Scotland, Norris earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He is a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England.
