Bank of Hawaii Waikiki Branch Moving to New Location Oct. 14

Honolulu, Hawaii (October 9, 2008) - Bank of Hawaii is moving its Waikiki Branch to a new home Oct. 14, 2008.  Currently located at 2228 Kalakaua Ave., the new branch will occupy 5,400 square feet on the ground floor of the Bank of Hawaii Waikiki Center at 2155 Kalakaua Ave. (formerly known as the Kalakaua Business Center.)  Bank of Hawaii’s International Branch, which opened in February 2008, is located on the 3rd floor of the building. 

Jill F. Shimokawa Higa, Bank of Hawaii executive vice president and Hawaii Branch Division manager, said, “We’re very excited to open doors to our newly relocated branch at the gateway of Waikiki.  The new location will make it even more convenient for customers to do their banking, including having access to our 24/7 Bank of Hawaii ATMs in the branch lanai.”

There will be a blessing ceremony at 8 a.m. and the public is welcome.  Complimentary cookies and coffee will be served throughout the first week of operation.

The new branch will offer full-service banking including:

  • Teller service
  • Checking, savings and time deposit products
  • Three 24-hour check-cashing Bank of Hawaii ATMs
  • Home Equity line/loan, Personal Flexline, and credit card applications
  • Safe Deposit Boxes

Business hours will be:  Monday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.; new Saturday hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Bank of Hawaii’s Pearl City and Waipahu Branches will also offer Saturday banking hours from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. beginning Oct. 11.

Other Oahu bank branches that currently offer Saturday hours include:  Ala Moana, Chinatown, Kaneohe, Kunia, Manoa, Pearlridge, Safeway Kapolei, Safeway Hawaii Kai, Safeway Kailua, Safeway Mililani, Star Market Kamehameha, Star Market Mililani, Star Market Moilili, Waialae-Kahala and Waikele. 

Bank of Hawaii is scheduled to open its 73rd branch at Safeway in Kaneohe on Nov. 10.  A grand opening celebration will be held on Nov. 22.  Hours of operation will be Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
