Bank of Hawaii Promotes Kuala'au and Shimonishi to Vice President

Honolulu, Hawaii (September 15, 2008) - Kamani B. Kuala'au has been promoted to vice president of Institutional Client Services from assistant vice president. He continues his duties as senior trust officer, which includes developing new business and administering the bank’s institutional investment client relationships.
Prior to joining Bank of Hawaii in 2003 as a securities analyst, Kuala'au worked as an analyst at Public Financial Management in Harrisburg, Pa.
Kuala'au graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology.
He is a member of the CEO Advisory Board at Kamehameha Schools.
Chad S. Shimonishi has been promoted to vice president and senior portfolio management officer from assistant vice president of the Corporate Hawaii Commercial Banking Center. In addition to his duties of managing a credit and deposit portfolio, he is responsible for underwriting credit transactions and building long-term client relationships.
Prior to joining the bank in 2002, Shimonishi worked at Wells Fargo Bank in Los Angeles, Calif. and Prudential Financial in Honolulu.
He graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance.
