Bank of Hawaii Announces Senior Management Promotions: Brow, Asuncion-Yacapin, Meagher, Mizuno, Ota, and Trechter

Honolulu, Hawaii (May 6, 2008) - Anh “Betty” H. Brow has been promoted to executive vice president of the International Banking Division from senior vice president and international client banking manager. She has added responsibility for international commercial banking in addition to her duties as manager of the International Banking Center in Waikiki, which include managing relationships with non-U.S. clients, developing new business opportunities in Hawaii and Asia, and overseeing the team of International Banking Division officers.
Prior to joining the bank, Brow worked as a management consultant with the Enterprise Management Department at American Savings Bank. She previously served as an executive vice president and head of the Investment Banking Group for International Bank of Asia in Hong Kong, and as vice president of Emerging Markets/International Private Banking for Bankers Trust Company, based in Hong Kong.
Brow holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration and master of business administration degree in finance from the University of Maryland.
Lyleth “Lee” Asuncion-Yacapin has been promoted to senior vice president and division manager of the Client Services Division, from vice president. In this position, she will oversee the bank’s Client Services Division, which includes managing the operations of the bank’s 24-hour customer call center.
Asuncion-Yacapin joined the bank in 1992 and served in various sales and service positions before joining the Client Services Division in 1996. She has also held a number of management positions within the bank’s customer call center including as the division’s sales and technology manager since 2004.
Margaret “Peg” Meagher has been promoted to chief compliance officer from deputy chief compliance officer. Meagher continues her duties as senior vice president of corporate compliance and is responsible for overseeing all compliance activities for Bank of Hawaii, focusing on consumer protection and privacy along with compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act, Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
She has more than 25 years experience in the compliance area and has held positions with the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Home Loan Bank Board and the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation. Prior to her return to Bank of Hawaii, she was a risk oversight officer for Countrywide Bank and held several compliance positions with Bank of America.
Meagher holds a bachelor of science degree in management finance from the University of Lowell, Mass.
Tony Mizuno has been promoted to senior vice president from vice president of the Commercial Real Estate Loan Division. Mizuno continues his responsibilities as deputy manager which include building and maintaining relationships with potential and existing customers to develop new business and increase existing business. He also supports the needs of commercial finance clients seeking loans, in addition to prospecting, underwriting and originating new loans.
Mizuno first joined Bank of Hawaii in 1993 as a bank associate and held increasingly responsible leadership positions through 2002. He served as chief operating officer for The Certified Group before rejoining Bank of Hawaii in 2004 as vice president and commercial real estate loan officer for the Commercial Real Estate Loan Division.
Mizuno holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Diego in Calif. He volunteers as a current board member and past president for Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii, and is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
Natalie B. Ota has been promoted to senior vice president of management reporting in the Controllers Division from vice president. She continues her duties as financial planning and reporting manager which entail overseeing the bank’s financial reports for internal business lines and its overall budget.
Ota joined the bank in 1995 as an analyst in the Financial and Regulatory Reporting Department. Prior to that, she served as a staff accountant at Entenmann’s Oroweat in Montebello, Calif. and also worked as a summer intern at Bank of Hawaii.
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Ota holds dual bachelor of science degrees in finance/business administration and accounting.
Kevin H. Trechter, has been promoted to President of Bank of Hawaii Insurance Services from vice president. He will be responsible for strategic direction and growth of Bank of Hawaii Insurance Services as well as continuing integration of the insurance subsidiary into Bank of Hawaii’s overall operations.
Trechter brings more than 24 years of industry experience to the position and most recently served as senior vice president of Van Gilder Insurance Corporation in Colorado.
He earned a bachelor of business administration degree in finance from California State University of Fullerton.
