Bank of Hawaii Promotes Higa to Executive Vice President

Honolulu, Hawaii (February 12, 2008) - Jill F. Shimokawa Higa has been promoted to executive vice president and Division Manager of Hawaii Branch Division. In her new position, Higa assumes leadership of the bank’s network of 72 branches statewide and administration of key areas in the division including sales, service, training, compliance, budget and branch facilities.
Higa has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry both in Hawaii and California. Her background includes leadership roles in branch banking, commercial banking, and sales and service administration. She started her career as a management trainee at Bank of Hawaii in 1984. She moved to California in 1987 and rose to the level of vice president and assistant to the president of Home Savings of America.
She returned to Hawaii in 1994 and rejoined the Bank of Hawaii taking on branch and commercial banking assignments at the Waipahu and Pearlridge Branches. In 2000, she was promoted to division sales manager and took on the responsibility of directing sales for both consumer banking and business banking. Higa was promoted to senior vice president in 2002.
Higa earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and graduated with honors from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
She serves as a board member for the Hawaii Youth Symphony and Hawaii Arts Center for Youth.
Bank of Hawaii has 72 locations in Hawaii, the largest number in the state, with locations on all the major islands.
