Bank of Hawaii Reopens Historic Kohala Branch
Honolulu, Hawaii (December 18, 2007) - Bank of Hawaii celebrated the reopening of its historic branch facility in Kohala (Kapa’au) on the Big Island yesterday with a traditional Hawaiian blessing.  The branch had been severely damaged in the October 2006 earthquake and was closed for structural renovations.  In the interim, the bank met the financial service needs of the community via a large mobile trailer outfitted with teller stations and ATMs.

Honolulu, Hawaii (October 24, 2007) - Bank of Hawaii is warning of a “phishing” scam bearing Bank of Hawaii’s name, and is reminding people who receive the fraudulent email that they should not respond.  The email asks individuals to fill out an online survey in order to receive a $100 reward credited to their account.

Bank of Hawaii to Open International Banking Center in Waikiki
Honolulu, Hawaii (August 2, 2007) - Bank of Hawaii plans to open an international branch in the heart of Waikiki during the fourth quarter of 2007.  The bank, which will occupy nearly 12,000 square feet of the Kalakaua Business Center at 2155 Kalakaua Ave., will be the headquarters for the bank’s international client business with more than 20 employees who currently have language capabilities in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and French.

Bank of Hawaii's Wilma S. Kanda First in State Appointed to AAP Blue Ribbon Panel
Honolulu, Hawaii (February 28, 2007) - Wilma S. Kanda of Bank of Hawaii is the first person in the state to be appointed to the Accredited Automated Clearing House Professional (AAP) Blue Ribbon Panel by the Electronics Payments Association (NACHA).  Kanda is a self-service project manager/Automated Clearing House (ACH) manager and assistant vice president at the bank. She will serve a two-year term on the national panel.  Kanda and the nine other members of the AAP Blue Ribbon Panel have oversight responsibility for the strategic direction of the AAP Program, including review and revision of the national testing and accreditation process.

Bank of Hawaii Warns of Phishing Scam Survey
Honolulu, Hawaii (February 26, 2007) - Bank of Hawaii is warning of a fraudulent  email survey.  The bogus survey asks for feedback on the bank’s service quality and promises a monetary deposit to the recipient’s account.  The recipient is instructed to click on a link which requests personal account and credit card information.  People who receive this email, which is a type of “phishing” fraud, should not respond.

Bank of Hawaii Appoints Glass and Sloan to American Samoa Positions
Honolulu, Hawaii (February 20, 2007) - Brian S. Glass, vice president, was recently appointed Bank of Hawaii’s district manager in American Samoa, where he will be responsible for the overall management of its American Samoa branches.  Glass joined the bank in 1990, serving in various management positions throughout the Pacific including as installment loan manager for the Saipan Branch, branch manager in Majuro and lending manager in the bank’s former Solomon Island subsidiary.  Glass has also served as dealer banking officer in the Auto Dealer Banking department in Hawaii.
