Bank of Hawaii Corporation Declines to Participate in the U.S. Treasury Capital Purchase Program
Honolulu, Hawaii (December 22, 2008) - Bank of Hawaii Corporation (NYSE: BOH) today announced that the Company does not plan to participate in the Treasury’s Capital Purchase Program.  The program is part of the federal government’s Troubled Assets Relief Program approved by Congress to strengthen the banking system by providing banks with additional capital to increase lending capabilities.

Bank of Hawaii Announces New Senior Vice Presidents: Carpenter, Murakami, Nakamatsu and Rodriguez

Honolulu, Hawaii (October 21, 2008) - William “Bill” Y. Shiroma has been promoted to branch manager of the Waiakamilo Branch.  His responsibilities include managing daily operations of the branch including sales and customer service inquiries.  With more than 22 years of banking experience, Shiroma most recently served as service manager for the Main Downtown Branch, a position that he has held since 2003.

Honolulu, Hawaii (October 9, 2008) - Bank of Hawaii is moving its Waikiki Branch to a new home Oct. 14, 2008.  Currently located at 2228 Kalakaua Ave., the new branch will occupy 5,400 square feet on the ground floor of the Bank of Hawaii Waikiki Center at 2155 Kalakaua Ave. (formerly known as the Kalakaua Business Center.)  Bank of Hawaii’s International Branch, which opened in February 2008, is located on the 3rd floor of the building.

Bank of Hawaii Lowers Base Lending Rate

Bank of Hawaii's Kevin Higa Receives Certified Investment Analyst Designation
Honolulu, Hawaii (July 15, 2008) - Bank of Hawaii Trust Officer Kevin I. Higa has received the Certified Investment Management Analyst ® (CIMA) designation.  The CIMA designation, delivered by the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), is the only advanced designation specifically for investment consultants.  Higa completed the CIMA exam at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.  He is one of 30 CIMA-designated investment consultants in the state of Hawaii.

Bank of Hawaii Expanding ATM Network At Aloha Petroleum Stations
Honolulu, Hawaii (July 14, 2008) - Bank of Hawaii and Aloha Petroleum, Ltd. announced today they have agreed to expand the bank’s ATM network to include 31 Aloha Petroleum Island Mini-Mart company gasoline stations.  Installation of the new Bank of Hawaii ATMs will begin in August.

Bank of Hawaii Launches Online Mortgage Account Management Center
Honolulu, Hawaii (July 11, 2008) - Bank of Hawaii is introducing its new Mortgage Account Management Center that will give residential loan customers secure, online access to information on their first mortgages with a new Mortgage Account Management Center. Bank of Hawaii will be the first bank in the state to offer this type of in-depth service. The service, which will be available through the bank’s website www.boh.com, is scheduled to go live on July 14, 2008.

Bank of Hawaii Launches Free Checking and Online Account Opening for Checking and Savings
Honolulu, Hawaii (June 23, 2008) - Bank of Hawaii is launching free checking beginning June 26, 2008.  The free checking account will have no minimum balance requirement and no monthly service charge.  Customers will receive a free Visa Check Card and free access to e-Bankoh (Bank of Hawaii’s online banking service).  More than 100,000 customers who are currently enrolled in “Smart Checking,”  “College Express” or “Basic Checking” will be automatically converted to the free account.  Customers will continue to receive all the benefits of those accounts but no longer be subject to monthly service charges.

Honolulu, Hawaii (May 8, 2008) - Brant Hi‘ikua Chillingworth has been promoted to vice president of Community Development and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) from assistant vice president.  He continues his current duties as CRA and Community Development officer, which include administering the CRA program, compliance, training, management reporting and community outreach.  In this role, he oversees the CRA exam which is administered by the Federal Reserve of San Francisco to examine the bank’s lending, service, and investment activities in the entire community with a specific focus on low and moderate income areas.  In addition, Chillingworth is responsible for administering the grant request process for the Bank of Hawaii Charitable Foundation and managing community development investments.
