In the enrollment process, answer “Yes” to the question under “Backup Withholding” if the IRS has notified you that you are subject to backup withholding. Yes, the option to order checks is available during the opening process. You should receive an order of 50 wallet-style personalized checks and 10 deposit slips within 2 weeks. The current cost for this check order is $14.23 which includes applicable sales tax. Price is subject to change without notice. The cost is automatically deducted from your checking account and charged after the order is mailed. Please allow up to 10 business days for the charge to post to your account.
The process will take approximately 10 minutes provided you have available your Social Security number, date of birth, home address, employment information, and account information from your existing financial institution. If you unable to complete the application for any reason, you can apply again later, however, your information is not saved and the process will begin anew.

Your initial deposit is transferred electronically from either your existing account at Bank of Hawaii or your account at another financial institution. The amount of your initial deposit may not exceed $5,000. The option to fund via credit card is not available for security reasons. Please see below for details on making future deposits.
Deposits to your account may be made via any Bank of Hawaii easy deposit ATM, Mobile Deposit via the Bank of Hawaii Mobile App, in the mail or in person at any of Bank of Hawaii’s convenient branch locations. As an e-Bankoh customer you can use an existing account you own at another financial institution to transfer money to your new Bank of Hawaii account.
If you requested a card, you will receive your card and Personal Identification Number (PIN) separately within 7 to 10 business days.
