Interview with Alec L.
What was special about your onboarding experience?
What made my onboarding process so special was my progressive involvement with the bank as a young student. I was exposed to the great people here who to took the time to invest their knowledge in me making sure I left work each day a little more confident. Each stage of the Internship and Bank Associate program helped me not only fit in at the bank, but feel at home.
What makes working at Bank of Hawaii special?
What truly makes Bank of Hawaii so special is the people that you get to see on a day to day basis. One of the things I strived for coming out of college was to surround myself with motivated and hardworking individuals, something that is clearly apparent here. In parallel, the bank does a great job of not only recognizing these types of individuals, but truly cares about their long term goals.
What opportunities have you been able to take advantage of to advance your career?
During my internship I was able to meet with leaders across all facets of the bank, one of which I remained in contact with. Before starting my second semester as a senior, I was offered a position in the Bank Associate program to work with him after graduation. During the program, I was encouraged to meet with others and build connections before starting a permanent role, something that has truly started to propel me today.
