Sydney: When you land at Kingsford Smith Airport, you'll be mesmerized by your first view of the Sydney Harbour. The Harbour is home to one of the most graceful bridges in the world and also what is often considered as the most famous performing arts center in the world. The famed Bondi beach rivals our own shores, and hiking in the Blue Mountains—barely 30 miles west of Sydney—has to be at the top of any outdoor-oriented person's bucket list. Also: Koalas. Yes, these cute critters can be spotted in the wild, and close-up at the Wild Life Sydney Zoo.

Austin: Have you been to the beautiful state capital of Texas, yet? If not, you're missing out. As the self-proclaimed live music capital of the world, Austin is home to major music festivals, as well as numerous jazz and blues concerts, outdoor art festivals, LGBTQ+ pride parades, biker rallies and countless other events year-round.

Oakland: Most of us who have flown east are plenty familiar with LAX. However, Hawaiian Airlines covers a lot of California, including flights to San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Long Beach and San Jose. But one airline destination in particular—Oakland—often gets overlooked despite an abundance of funky urban charm and convenience. It's the closest major airport to Napa Valley's vineyards, just down the road from Berkeley's bustling restaurant scene. It's also a quick drive to the Jack London District, a thriving waterfront destination for residents, businesses and tourists.

Portland: It's more than just a haven for young hipsters and well worth the 5.5-hour flight. Portland has its share of cold and rainy weather, but there's dozens of microbreweries to keep you warm, or stay dry exploring Powell's City of Books, the bookstore so large it offers a map to find your way around. On a clear day, you can see (and hike, climb or ski) Mount Hood, or cast a line in the Columbia River, one of the great sport fishing destinations in the world.

New York: Hawaiian Airline flies nonstop to the city that never sleeps—that means connections to almost anywhere in the world. The throngs of sightseers at local entertainment centers, famous statues, sporting events, museums and parks Times Square, Ellis Island, the Empire State Building and Central Park can leave Waikiki feeling like an off-the-beaten-path travel destination. Hop the subway to explore international cuisine in Queens, hipster fashion in Brooklyn, or the nation's largest urban zoo in the Bronx.
